PM Coaching & Mentorship
I wasn't handed a manual on effective leadership. I built one for myself, and I iterate on it to this day. I look for ways of working that are authentic and human-centered. I help you build that exact same reality for yourself.
My coaching is grounded in practical, everyday reality. I bring an East Coast, Gen-X perspective to our conversations. I tell it exactly like it is, and I always do it with care and kindness. I want to help you get to the other side of whatever is going on. We will find actual solutions to the friction you're feeling.
Coaching vs. Mentoring
I act as both a coach and a mentor, and I do both with deep intention. Coaching means I ask questions to help you find your own answers. Mentoring means I look at the reality in front of you and tell you exactly what I see. Then, we talk through it until it makes perfect sense.
I draw heavily on my own experience. If you need a direct answer to make an abstract problem real, I'll give you one. If you just need someone to validate your work and progress, I can do that too.
Navigating the Messy Reality of Tech
I've watched this industry reinvent itself time and time again. AI is reshaping how we work and changing what jobs even look like. Nobody has all the answers right now. That's completely fine. We get to figure this out as humans together.
We'll rely heavily on experimentation. We won't focus on big dramatic gestures. We'll focus on small moves that help you understand the problem better. We'll make a move, see what happens, and then adjust. A lot of what we work on won't have a clean answer. We'll try things and learn more as we go. That's how I approach my own life, and it's exactly how we'll tackle your career.
Is Coaching a Good Fit For You?
Let's figure out if we're a match. My coaching is built for you if you're:
- New to tech leadership or engineering management and figuring it out as you go.
- An individual contributor who wants to grow, change direction, or figure out what you actually want from your career.
- New to the industry or transitioning from a totally different field, and you need a guide for the weird, wonky bits of working in tech.
- Navigating a neurodivergent brain in a workplace built for someone else.
- Looking for a real, pragmatic problem-solving partner who will be completely straight with you.
This work requires a willingness to dig deep. You need to be ready to look at your own contribution to a hard situation. I'll always be kind about it, but we will go there.
